Well — Door #8 has a Quickspin behind it.  Quickspins have always been a part of  SOULBMX Video Magazine and give a brief overview of what has been going on in the world of Bmx over the past period of time. As the weather is shit and f*** cold over here in Germay we were thinking of sunny days and places we would rather be. One of the places would defo be California or TX. So we dug our crates and found an ancient road trip to TX and Cali we did in 2000. This vid has more living legends in it than you could shake a stick at: Ruben Alcantara, Joe Simon, Ryan Corrigan, Stew Johnson, Brian Foster, Shaun Butler, Corey Nastazio, Vic Murphy and a very very young Chase Hawk… do you want me to go on?? I won´t even start on the spots (9th street, sheep hills, street in SD, …)

As far as I can remember the german crew consisted of Markus Wilke,  Thomas Stellwag, Sören Jacobs, Marcin Stypulowski and Thomas Fritscher.

Arguably one of the stylisht-riding teams in the Game today, Flybikes, made it over to Cologne for this years Worlds. The entire Team came along, amongst them Javier Ortega, Kevin Kalkoff, Stefan Lantschner, Luke Marchant, Pedro Melo, Perico, Kevin Porter, Ruben Alcantara, Sergio Layos, Dylan Smith, Pitu, Narran Buddy and Chellan. I don´t know if I forgot anybody. Anyways.

They were having a good time and also celebrating their 10th anniversary of FlyBikes. I guess by now everybody has heared of Pericos final run in Dirt where he decided to loose some extra weight and get rid of his clothes - en pelotas! (as the spanish would say).

Here is what Phillip Kölsch has to say about his clip: “In the year 1999 a bike company, named flybikes, was founded by some friends in spain…After one decade of producing „ bmx toys from spain“ the whole flybikes team came to the worlds in cologne to celebrate the 10th anniversary and have a good time together. Even though the rain made the whole contest a little bit unrelaxed for everybody those guys had fun on and off their bikes and Perico made everybody have a good laugh all weekend! Here‘s a video which includes the riding of Javier Ortega, Kevin Porter, Dylan Smith and the other flybikes dudes. Watch out for the last clip, I‘d say its the most special thing I have ever filmed…I hope you like it!”

I´ve been looking out the window for the last week thinking: Damn, this is shitty weather. So we dug up a clip just to give us a good feeling about riding, summer and the things hopefully to come this year.

The clip is off  SOUL #31 and was made on a very relaxed trip to Spain. It´s not the hardcore tricks but the nice atmosphere, which comes across in the vid, what is worth mentioning. Just imagine yourself, getting up in the morning, having a nice, healthy breakfast, going riding in the sun all day long and then finishing off the day with a cerveza or two, good spanish food and a big smile on your face.

Well, this only leaves one thing to say: WE WANT SUMMER!
