    July 8th, 2010

    Yo Yo!

Two weeks are left until the second edition of the international dirt jump competition BIG IN BAVARIA at the BIKE EXPO tradeshow from July 22nd to 25th.  If you cant make it to this years action then be sure to tune into soulbmx.tv and check out the LIVE STREAM of the FINALS on Sunday, July 25th @2.30 pm!!!

The trails are almost up and running. The guys have been working hard over the last few weeks to make it a worthy follow-up comp for last years action.  The set up is the following: The well-known starting tower with a roll in is similar to last year. But the step down gap jump is built smoother since it leads into a roller which guarantees the perfect speed for the upcoming five jumps: First the two biggest doubles, back to back, but the second one is bit of a hip jump, then a curved dirt step up step down combination, to be followed by a final shorter jump that is still big enough for some bangers! Some of the best riders will have fun on this unique dirt line for sure. Being a tiny bit shorter but keeping the speed high, you can even expect some heavy stuff to go down.

The riders will battle over a  20,000 Euros overall prize purse. To see whats coming towards you, go check out the officiall BIG IN BAVARIA Vol.II TEASER video here on soulbmx.tv!
Another important notice: For all the rookies out there, that want to mess their skills with the pros: an open qualifier competition called GO BIG OR GO HOME is held on Thursday 22nd and Friday 23rd. Of course a smaller dirt line is built for the pre qualifier comp, with max. 5-6 meter gaps. The ten best riders of the GO BIG OR GO HOME will join the invited pros and make their way into the BIG IN BAVARIA qualification round.

To take your chance go register on www.gobigorgohome.de.

    We will keep you informed!

Hope to see you all there!

AND DON´T FORGET TO TUNE IN ON 25th JULY HERE ON SOULBMX.TV FOR THE LIVE STREAM!!! @2.30 PM !!!

BIG IN BAVARIA Best of CLIP !

    August 4th, 2009

big_bavaria_flyerFor all the people who missed the Action at the BIG IN BAVARIA Contest in Munich watch this Best of clip to give you an idea what went down and what to expect next year at the 2010 BIG IN BAVARIA.

The clip features Brandon Dosch who landed his 720s, opposite 360s, 360 double tailwhips, barspin to tailwhips and various combinations in his final runs perfectly. So without a doubt he deserved to finish up on top. TJ Ellis showed his backflips as x up one foots and superman variations, fancy cannonballs as well as huge frontflips at the last double. This meant second place for Vans teamrider.  One of the head turners was definately German rookie Simon Moratz from Freising, Germany who went big with his 360s, frontflips and backflips no handers.

    BIG IN BAVARIA FINALS

The rest of the rider field also was hitting hard over the massive dirt line featuring seven jumps after a huge step down.  Mike Clark (4th/USA) was the only one who had the balls to hit the step down with backflips. There was only one more rider doing a pretty technical trick on this drop: Darren Berrecloth (5th/CAN), former BMX rider and now primary known as mountain bike freeride icon, is used to bigger gaps and had the balls to show 360s at the step down. GT rider Dave Dillewaard (6th/AUS) just ruled the line with his unique style and tricks like 360 tailwhips to tabletop, what gave him big props from the audience. Dew Tour Chicago winner Josh Hult (8th/USA) showed nice decades and huge superman tailwhips at the first and biggest double. James Foster (11th/USA) used the same booster to pull even bigger 360 tailwhips.

So. To sum it up - the comp was, apart from weather problems, a good one and you can check the highlights in this clip.  See you next year!

    Streetcourse Worlds 09

    June 14th, 2009

worlds09_courseExcited about this years Worlds? Well you should be. We just got a glimpse at this years street course. Camp Ramps are in charge once again and by the looks of the course design, they are going to do a good job the fith time running. The course is designed on 3 different hight levels and connects itself via Wallrides, Channels and room for transfers. As they put it: “The innovative arrangement of the ramps enables the riders to find a huge pool of different lines and big tricks.” If you want to take a glimpse of the course click the pick or go directly to camp ramps.

By judging the riders list it will be put to good use and we are looking forward to the action. So, once again: Make sure to put a big red mark in your events calender on the 10th - 12th of July for this years BMX Worlds in Cologne (Jugendpark)

Remember this one (if i am allowed to call the bmx masters the inofficial worlds!)  as Matt Hofmann made it over in 2006, Mark Webb took over the Miniramp and Chris Doyle transferred half of the street course — good one!:
